Health & safety policy statement

GRIDSERVE Sustainable Energy will, so far as is reasonably practicable will:

Ensure a safe workplace for those under our direct control and others who may be affected by our work activities: So far as is reasonably practicable, in compliance with the Health and Safety at Work Act 1974 and other applicable regulatory requirements, GRIDSERVE Sustainable Energy (GRIDSERVE) will provide resources and arrangements for safe working practices to ensure safe conditions and a healthy environment for those persons under our control.

So far as is reasonably practicable, GRIDSERVE will ensure that any work undertaken by persons under our control does not adversely affect the health and safety of anyone else, such as customers, clients, contractors, sub-contractors, visitors, or members of the public.

GRIDSERVE will comply with regulations and guidance specific to our operation, including, but not exclusively, the Management of Health and Safety at Work Regulations 1999, Construction (Design and Management) Regulations 2015, Electricity at Work Regulations 1989, and HSR25 (third edition), October 2015. Risk assessments will be communicated and followed by all employees working on GRIDSERVE infrastructure or assets. GRIDSERVE is committed to managing health and safety with the same degree of expertise as our other core business activities.

Provide safety consultation, information and training: GRIDSERVE will facilitate consultation, information, and training for those persons under our control on matters affecting health, safety, and welfare, advising them of their responsibilities in alignment with our ZERO Harm safety strategy. GRIDSERVE will review recommendations during scheduled ongoing reviews of safety arrangements. GRIDSERVE commits to managing the competency of its contractors appointed to undertake the work for which they are appointed.

Obtaining specialist expert advice: GRIDSERVE will seek internal or external expert advice on health, safety, and welfare issues related to our activities to identify risks likely to affect our work and ensure that reasonable precautions are taken to mitigate such risks to persons who may be affected by our operations.

Effectively communicate health and safety arrangements: GRIDSERVE will clearly communicate our business’s health and safety arrangements, associated procedures, and guidance to all persons under our control, ensuring their understanding of the relevant regulations and guidance related to the work being undertaken.

Promote personal safety within our Zero-Harm safety culture: GRIDSERVE will advise all persons under our control of their legal duty to take reasonable steps to ensure the health, safety and welfare of themselves and of any other persons (including members of the public) who may be affected by their acts or omissions at work and to cooperate with GRIDSERVE to ensure compliance with statutory provisions, regulations, and guidance.

Accountable persons: GRIDSERVE will ensure that a competent manager or supervisor is appointed at all workplaces. This person will be responsible for ensuring that health and safety standards are met in accordance with statutory provisions, regulations, and guidance.

Continual improvement: GRIDSERVE is committed to preventing injury and ill health, enhancing welfare, and continually improving health and safety management and performance. To effectively deliver safety arrangements, GRIDSERVE will ensure the competency of its safety team to ensure they provide expert advice on matters affecting the health, safety, and welfare of all persons under our control.
