Modern slavery and human trafficking statement

1. Introduction

1.1. Modern Slavery is a crime and a violation of fundamental human rights. It takes various forms, such as slavery, servitude, forced and compulsory labour and human trafficking, all of which have in common deprivation of a person’s liberty by another in order to exploit them for personal or commercial gain (‘’slavery and human trafficking’’).

1.2. GRIDSERVE Sustainable Energy Ltd and all of its subsidiaries (“GRIDSERVE”) do not tolerate slavery and human trafficking in any form in any of our operations.

1.3. Our Prevention of Modern Slavery and Human Trafficking Policy reflects our commitment to acting ethically and with integrity in all our business relationships as well as implementing and enforcing effective systems and controls to ensure slavery and human trafficking is not taking place anywhere in our supply chains.

2. Organisation Structure

2.1. GRIDSERVE is a provider of renewable energy solutions, and electric vehicle charging infrastructure with its registered office at Units 9 & 10, Westerngate, Hillmead Enterprise Park, Swindon, England, SN5 5WN.

We operate across the UK, and our employees are situated in the United Kingdom, operating from the below addresses:

3. Our Supply Chains

Our supply chains include goods and services related to:

  • Construction (e.g. hire equipment, security, building materials).
  • Electrical infrastructure (e.g. electric vehicle chargers, feeder pillars, Battery Energy Storage Systems (BESS)).
  • Corporate services (e.g. facilities management, laptops, utilities).

4. Due Diligence Processes for Slavery and Human Trafficking

We have processes in place to:

  • Identify those suppliers who are not taking steps to prevent discrimination, utilise children as labour, and/or use forced labour;
  • Ensure we do not trade with any suppliers where we have identified discrimination, child labour, and/or use of forced labour, and;
  • Protect whistle-blowers.

5. Supplier Adherence to our Values and Ethics

We have checks in place to ensure that all those in our supply chain, including contractors and sub-contractors, adhere to our values and ethics. These checks include thorough reviews of contractual terms and conditions and supplier/contractor slavery and human trafficking policies.

6. Training

To ensure an understanding of the risks of modern slavery and human trafficking in our supply chain and our business, we mandate annual training for all our staff.

7. Our Effectiveness in combating Slavery and Human Trafficking
We use the following measures to ensure that slavery and human trafficking is not taking place in any part of our business or supply chains:

  • The supplier onboarding process includes a declaration to comply with the supplier sustainability manual which includes a statement that ensure policies and process are in place to prevent slavery and human trafficking;
  • Our contract templates include standard clauses addressing slavery and human trafficking including the consequences of breaches of such provision.
  • Collaboration with investors and other global companies on guidance and legislation addressing slavery and human trafficking within Procurement and Supply.

This Statement is made pursuant to section 54(1) of the Modern Slavery Act 2015 and constitutes GRIDSERVE’s slavery and human trafficking statement for the financial year ending 31st December 2024.
